Recently, Hezbollah, the political and military organization based in Lebanon, unveiled a video highlighting its utilization of an innovative weapon—fiber-optic drones—in engagements against Israeli military units. Just last week, these advanced drones executed an assault, which tragically led to the demise of one Israeli soldier and left six others wounded.
These drones, which are remotely operated through fiber-optic cables as slender as dental floss, possess the capability to circumvent electronic detection and jamming attempts. With a maximum operational range of 50 kilometers, their primary objective is to target Israeli soldiers who venture into towns located in southern Lebanon, adding a new layer of complexity to the ongoing tensions in the region.
