On April 8, sources with knowledge of the matter revealed that Apple’s first foldable smartphone is expected to make its debut during the annual iPhone launch event later this year, easing prior concerns about significant production hurdles. According to these sources, Apple intends to unveil this foldable model in September, coinciding with the release of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.

Earlier reports from Nikkei had indicated that Apple faced challenges during the engineering testing phase, which could potentially delay production and shipment schedules. This news briefly caused Apple’s stock price to decline by 5.1%. While the intricate design of the new display and materials may initially constrain supply for a few weeks, Apple is aiming to launch the foldable phone either concurrently with or shortly after the release of its non-foldable counterparts.

However, with six months remaining until the anticipated launch and production not yet in full swing, the exact release date remains uncertain.
