According to the latest report from Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, the development of Apple's inaugural foldable smartphone, tentatively named the iPhone Fold, is proceeding without significant hurdles. Apple still plans to unveil this device during its traditional autumn iPhone release cycle in September 2026. Sales are expected to commence either concurrently with or shortly after the launch of the iPhone 18 Pro series. The iPhone Fold will feature a book-like horizontal folding design, boasting a screen size of approximately 7.8 to 8 inches when fully unfolded and a resolution that reaches 4K levels, rivaling the display quality of the iPad mini. The anticipated starting price for this device is set to be no less than $2,000, with the Chinese domestic version starting at around RMB 14,000 to 15,000. The premium version could potentially exceed RMB 20,000, positioning it as Apple's most expensive mobile phone offering to date.
