Recently, Google unveiled that the 'real-time translation for headphones' functionality within its translation app has made its official debut on the iOS platform. iPhone users equipped with headphones can now effortlessly translate conversations in real-time across more than 70 languages. Moreover, this innovative feature has been rolled out to both iOS and Android users in additional countries, such as France and Germany, broadening its accessibility.
Product Manager Sasha Kapoor expressed his enthusiasm for the feature, noting that he frequently utilizes it during social gatherings and travels—scenarios that are also prime use cases for the real-time translation capabilities of Apple AirPods. At present, this feature is compatible with AirPods 4, AirPods Pro 2, and AirPods Pro 3, offering support for an extensive array of over 70 languages, including Afrikaans, Arabic, and numerous others.
