The iOS 27 update from Apple is set to introduce substantial enhancements to Siri. Since the launch of iOS 18 in 2024, Siri has already demonstrated its ability to integrate with ChatGPT. Although plans to incorporate Google Gemini were initially sidelined, Apple has successfully forged a partnership with Google. This collaboration will see Google's models being utilized to bolster Siri and other intelligent features offered by Apple.

Furthermore, Apple has developed an extension framework for Siri, paving the way for the seamless integration of additional AI chatbots. Notably, Anthropic's Claude app is among those that can now collaborate with Siri, all without disrupting its partnership with Google. This innovative system is slated for implementation across iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27, providing users with the flexibility to incorporate a wider array of AI services via a newly introduced menu.

To take full advantage of these new Siri integration capabilities, AI chat applications will require updates. And starting from iOS 26.4, these applications have already gained the ability to integrate with CarPlay. In a bid to further elevate Siri's capabilities, Apple is also planning to endow it with features akin to those found in AI chat applications as part of the iOS 27 release. Moreover, the company is currently in the testing phase of a standalone Siri app that is fully compatible with the extension system.
