CHUWI has released a statement concerning the CPU 'mislabeling' controversy that affected its CoreBook X and CoreBook Plus laptops. The company acknowledges that, due to a production oversight, certain laptops were mistakenly fitted with processors that did not align with the advertised specifications. Customers who discover that their laptop does not conform to the ordered specifications are eligible to request a return via the original purchasing platform or through CHUWI's official customer service email. CHUWI assures that full refunds will be processed. Earlier, technology news outlets reported that the CHUWI CoreBook X was marketed as having an AMD Ryzen 5 7430U processor, but some units were actually equipped with a Ryzen 5 5500U, with software displaying inaccurate model information. AMD clarified that it had not endorsed this practice and reserved the right to take legal action. In its statement, CHUWI extended an apology and specified that returned devices must be in their original, undamaged condition, complete with all accessories. The return acceptance window is open until May 31, 2026.
