Dan Lianyu, the General Manager of Xiaomi Group's Major Home Appliances Department, made an announcement that reservations for tours of the Wuhan Xiaomi Smart Home Appliance Factory are now officially open. These visits are scheduled for March and April. Each session can accommodate up to 20 groups of Xiaomi enthusiasts. Set to roll into production in October 2025, this factory marks Xiaomi's third large-scale smart factory and its inaugural one solely focused on major home appliances. It boasts a seamless closed-loop system that integrates product design, research and development (R&D), and manufacturing processes. The factory is a marvel of automation, capable of operating in a "lights-out production" mode. It is outfitted with overhead conveyors and AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robots), showcasing a high level of intelligent logistics coverage. On average, an air conditioner rolls off the production line every 6.5 seconds. And for key components, there's a 100% AI visual inspection in place to ensure top-notch quality. The factory inked an agreement to establish itself in Wuhan in August 2024. Construction got underway in November of the same year, and by January 2025, the factory had reached a significant milestone with its topping-out ceremony. This rapid progress has set a new standard, embodying the "Optics Valley Speed."
