Meta announced that starting from June this year, it will discontinue access to its metaverse platform, Horizon Worlds, through VR headsets. This indicates that its once heavily invested metaverse strategy is gradually taking a backseat, with artificial intelligence becoming the new direction for the company's resource allocation. In February this year, Meta stated that it would transition Horizon Worlds from a VR platform to a product exclusively available on mobile devices. The platform was once regarded by Zuckerberg as a significant attempt at an immersive shared virtual world.
