In March 2026, Microsoft rolled out the non-security preview update numbered KB5079387 to Windows 11 versions 24H2 and 25H2, elevating the system build numbers to Build 26100.8106 and Build 26200.8106, respectively. Released as a test update, it requires users to manually check for updates to install. New features include Narrator integration with Copilot for image descriptions, optimization of the Smart App Control toggle, addition of a device information card on the Settings homepage, direct access to account subscription upgrades, mapping of the stylus Copilot key, voice-based file renaming in File Explorer, and improved unlocking reliability. Additionally, multiple issues were resolved, including those with Windows Hello fingerprint recognition, screen rotation after sleep wake-up, and HDR compatibility.
