Apple is reportedly set to introduce its AI-powered glasses in the second quarter of this year. The design of this non-mass-produced product boasts certain competitive edges. Notably, there are disparities in content ecosystems and AI functionalities between the domestic and international versions of the glasses. These devices are designed to be used in conjunction with iPhones, lacking independent display capabilities. In the meantime, sales of Ray-Ban Meta glasses are on a steady rise. Meta is pressing its partners to ramp up annual production capacity, aiming to exceed 20 million units by the end of 2026. Furthermore, Meta has announced plans to lay off approximately 10% of the workforce in its Reality Labs division, redirecting resources towards the research and development of AI wearable technology. The Chinese market for smart glasses is witnessing intense competition, with a multitude of manufacturers unveiling new offerings. Forecasts indicate that global smart glasses shipments will soar to 12.8 million units in 2025. China is projected to capture 22.2% of the market share, marking the highest growth rate.
