Duy Tran, a seasoned hardware expert, announced that he has successfully installed and run the macOS Sequoia 15.6 operating system on an Apple iPhone 16e. This customized system comes with built-in drivers tailored for the M4 desktop chip, and it has also undergone partial patch modifications to be compatible with the A18 mobile chip. Real-device images confirm that the system is operating smoothly, with the memory correctly identified as 7.53GB. Moreover, the M4 chip's Vulkan driver and Wi-Fi driver have been successfully integrated. Duy Tran further elucidated why the iPad Pro is unable to run macOS, explaining that Apple restricts the disabling of System Integrity Protection (SIP) on embedded devices and that the drivers are not fully optimized for such devices, which prevents the running of certain applications, including games. He also noted that in order to replicate this process, the phone must first be jailbroken.
