According to Red Star News, the world's inaugural eVTOL aircraft, tailored exclusively for aviation emergency medical rescue and christened the 'Wenyao' WY1600, has recently concluded its final assembly phase and officially rolled off the production line in Chengdu. Field tests for this groundbreaking aircraft are currently in progress. Co-developed by Sichuan Xunfei Aviation and West China Hospital of Sichuan University, this innovative model boasts a maximum takeoff weight of 1.8 tons. It is designed to accommodate one pilot, two medical professionals, and one patient on a stretcher. With an impressive maximum range of 300 kilometers and a cruising speed of 250 kilometers per hour, this aircraft sets a new benchmark in emergency medical transport. The aircraft features a cutting-edge power configuration, integrating forward-tilting rotors with ducted lift fans. It is also equipped with a full-aircraft rescue parachute, ensuring an extra layer of safety. Supporting both vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) as well as conventional runway takeoff and landing, this eVTOL aircraft embodies an integrated design philosophy that prioritizes both flight efficiency and safety. Looking ahead, it is poised to exhibit substantial commercial competitiveness in low-altitude transportation and operational scenarios.
