According to reports, Apple is set to launch its “Apple Glasses” (or Apple Vision) by the end of 2026. However, the official shipping of the product might be postponed until 2027. Apple's CEO, Tim Cook, regards AR glasses as the company's “top strategic priority.” His ambition is to craft a product that outshines Meta's offerings in the market.
Cook has devoted a decade to the development of lightweight, true AR glasses that can be worn comfortably throughout the day. Interestingly, the first iteration of Apple Glasses will not initially incorporate AR functions. Instead, it will position itself as an “iPhone smart accessory.” The product's core selling points will revolve around the Siri voice assistant and AI-driven smart experiences. Although its functionality may seem limited at first glance, this release marks a pivotal step for Apple in its pursuit of the ultimate AR vision. It allows the company to push the boundaries of lightweight hardware design and explore new frontiers in the AR space.
