On December 22 (local time), the Italian Competition and Market Authority (AGCM) issued a formal notice, announcing a hefty fine of approximately €98.635 million (around 813 million yuan) on Apple Inc. The penalty was levied on the grounds that Apple had abused its dominant market position. The AGCM concluded that Apple's "App Tracking Transparency" policy, which has been in effect since April 2021, stifled competition and constituted a breach of Article 102 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU).
