On December 19, Jiemian News reported exclusively that ByteDance is intensifying its AI smartphone collaborations with hardware makers like vivo, Lenovo, and Transsion. The plan is to pre-install AIGC plugins on their devices, aiming to secure user access and shift from a passive to a more proactive stance in AI implementation. Several employees from vivo have verified that both parties have finalized their cooperation agreement and are now delving into the specifics. ByteDance is keen on uncovering fresh revenue streams through strategies such as traffic distribution and revenue sharing from membership subscriptions.

The partnership will initially target mid-range smartphone models priced over 2,000 yuan, with a focus on pre-installing the plugins on new devices. Subsequently, the rollout will extend to other models through OTA (Over-The-Air) updates. Internally, ByteDance has set an ambitious goal of reaching 150-200 million devices, with a particular emphasis on overseas markets as a potential key growth area.

It's worth noting that ByteDance's previous attempts to partner with OPPO did not materialize. As of now, ZTE Mobile stands as the only officially announced collaborating manufacturer, while Meizu Technology has also put forth a partnership proposal.
