Xiaomi HyperOS 3 has kicked off an internal beta recruitment drive for its background stacking layout style. Successful applicants will be granted access to the installation package for the new desktop version. Once installed, users can easily switch to this fresh style via the system settings by navigating to 'Desktop → Recent Tasks Style'. The internal beta version of the new software won't do away with the original vertical and horizontal layout choices. Instead, it offers users the freedom to pick whichever they prefer. The stacked background feature neatly organizes background programs based on the time they were launched. It allows for seamless left and right swiping actions and can display larger application interfaces for better visibility. This innovative design concept harks back to the webOS system from 2009. Moreover, Apple embraced a comparable stacked background interface in iOS 9 back in 2015, demonstrating the widespread appeal and functionality of this layout style.
