Recently, a coalition of European app developers and consumer advocacy groups jointly filed a petition with the European Commission, urging regulatory authorities to impose stricter limits on Apple's fee policies within the EU App Store. They highlighted that, despite Apple's modifications to its fee framework, apps developed in the EU continue to struggle against their U.S. counterparts in terms of competitiveness. The coalition contends that Apple's so-called "adjustments for compliance" have not genuinely aligned with EU regulatory standards. Instead, they argue, Apple has sustained a high-cost ecosystem by introducing more intricate fee arrangements.
