Consumers can simply open the Douyin App and scan the designated official payment devices at partner stores. This action directs them to a dedicated payment page exclusive to the merchant, where they can manually input the order amount. Once the merchant confirms the amount, consumers have the flexibility to select from various payment methods, including Alipay, WeChat Pay, or the newly introduced Douyin Pay, to finalize their transactions. The entire payment journey seamlessly unfolds within the Douyin App, eliminating the hassle of switching between different applications and creating a self-contained payment ecosystem. Presently, this innovative feature is undergoing a pilot phase in major cities like Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Hangzhou, catering to high-frequency offline spending scenarios such as dining out, shopping at convenience stores and fresh food supermarkets, accessing lifestyle services, and indulging in leisure and entertainment activities. The roster of partner merchants encompasses both well-known chain brands and local small and medium-sized enterprises.
