On December 15, reports emerged indicating that a consortium of companies, including Haier, Midea, Xiaomi, and TCL, have recently collectively pledged their adherence to the 'Self-Regulatory Pact of the Air Conditioner Aluminum Reinforcement Application Research Working Group.' This commitment is aimed at safeguarding the industry's overall image and maintaining a competitive order. Significantly, among the companies that have signed up for and are abiding by the 'self-regulatory pact,' all the prominent air conditioner manufacturers, except for Gree Electric Appliances, have demonstrated their dedication. Since the start of the year, Gree Electric Appliances has consistently reiterated its stance of having 'no intentions to substitute copper with aluminum in air conditioners.' Amidst the industry's widespread initiative to promote 'aluminum substitution for copper' and the widespread adoption of the 'self-regulatory pact,' Gree's position emerges as distinct and noteworthy.
