On Thursday, Apple successfully persuaded the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit to overturn part of a court order requiring it to adjust its App Store to promote competition. The court held that portions of an order issued by a judge in April this year, which found Apple in contempt of court, were overly broad and required modification, but upheld the majority of the contempt finding and the prior injunction. The panel modified the lower court's ruling that prohibited Apple from collecting commissions or fees for non-platform purchases, instructing the trial judge to revise this part of the order.
