Xiaomi made an official announcement on its Weibo account, stating that the HyperOS system now enables users to send and receive live photos directly within WeChat chat windows. To take advantage of this new feature, users are required to update their HyperOS to the latest version and ensure that their WeChat app is upgraded to version 8.0.65 or higher.
Prior to Xiaomi's announcement, OPPO ColorOS had already revealed on December 4th, and vivo OriginOS followed suit on December 5th, that their respective systems also support the sharing of live photos in WeChat chats. Reflecting on the evolution of WeChat's live photo functionality, it's noteworthy that in July of this year, WeChat initially introduced the capability to send live photos in chats for iOS devices running versions 8.0.61 and above. Moving back to September of the previous year, WeChat officially announced that users could post live photos in their Moments feed, a feature that gradually became available for Apple iOS devices on versions 8.0.51 and later. Furthermore, in April of this year, Android smartphone users were also granted the ability to share live photos in their Moments.
