Research conducted by Omdia reveals that in the third quarter of 2025, the volume of PC shipments (tablets excluded) in the U.S. dropped by 1% on a year-on-year basis, amounting to 17.7 million units. This marks a second consecutive quarterly decline. In this quarter, consumer shipments experienced an 8% uptick, hitting 7.6 million units. The commercial market stayed relatively steady, with a decrease of less than 1%. Meanwhile, shipments to the education and government sectors plummeted by 23%. Despite the overall trend of successive declines, Omdia maintains an optimistic outlook for the holiday season. It anticipates that the U.S. PC market shipments will still register a 4% growth in 2025.
