Following Apple's release of iOS 26, the liquid glass design faced a wave of criticism from users. Many derided it as unattractive and pointed out that its real-time rendering capabilities taxed the hardware, resulting in device overheating and a consequent decline in battery life. In a bid to address these concerns, Apple rolled out two new modes—'Transparent' and 'Tint'—in the iOS 26.1 Developer Preview Beta 4 update. These modes offer users the flexibility to customize their experience, thereby mitigating visual discomfort and enhancing overall user satisfaction.
