On October 20, data from Counterpoint Research revealed that within the first 10 days of its launch in both the United States and China, the sales of the iPhone 17 series outperformed those of the iPhone 16 series by a notable 14%. Notably, the standard iPhone 17 model witnessed a significantly higher demand compared to its predecessor, the $799 iPhone 16. Analysts attribute this surge to enhancements in the display quality, an expansion in storage capacity, and the introduction of the upgraded A19 chip. Senior analyst Ivan Lin highlighted that consumers have shown a keen interest in the improvements and upgrades brought to the basic iPhone 17 model. In China, during its initial launch phase, the iPhone 17's sales nearly doubled those of the basic iPhone 16 model, with this upward trend anticipated to persist throughout October. Moreover, the iPhone 17 Pro Max has also garnered robust demand in the United States market.
