Recently, during a livestream event, Apple's CEO, Tim Cook, revealed that the China-specific version of the iPhone Air is set for an official launch on October 22. Although this particular model made its global debut in September of this year, its simultaneous release in the Chinese mainland was hindered by the pending approval for eSIM mobile phone service commercialization. However, on October 13, a significant milestone was achieved as China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Telecom—the three leading telecom operators in China—announced that they had secured official approval for the commercialization of eSIM mobile phone services and had commenced full-scale operations in this regard. This development signifies a landmark moment, as eSIM technology transcends its previous applications in the IoT (Internet of Things) and smart wearable sectors, ushering in a new era of commercialization within the mobile phone industry in China.
