On the evening of October 13, 2025, China Unicom, China Mobile, and China Telecom jointly announced that they had secured approval to conduct commercial trials for eSIM mobile phone services. China Unicom has successfully adapted 75 terminal models for eSIM compatibility, served millions of users, and initiated a nationwide reservation channel. China Mobile, on the other hand, will offer comprehensive eSIM product support, encompassing mobile phones, smartwatches, tablets, in-car devices, and other gadgets. Meanwhile, China Telecom's eSIM mobile phone service is now accessible for purchase in all 31 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities across China. During the commercial trial phase, the three operators have decided not to open online applications for the time being; instead, users are required to visit physical business offices to apply for eSIM services.
