On October 9, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) declared a recall of more than 50,000 wireless power banks from ESR's HaloLock series. The affected models include 2G520, 2G505B, 2G512B, and 2G505. The recall was prompted by the potential for overheating in the products' built-in lithium-ion batteries, a situation that could spark fires and even explosions. To date, the CPSC has received 29 incident reports linked to these power banks, which have resulted in property damage amounting to at least $30,000. Thankfully, no casualties have been reported. These problematic power banks were distributed across North America through online platforms like Amazon, ESR's official website, and Home Depot, from September 2022 to July 2025. WayMeet Company, the relevant entity, is now urgently advising consumers who possess any of the aforementioned power bank models to cease using them immediately and to get in touch with the company for a full refund.
