On October 11, WayMeet Limited, the parent company behind the digital accessories brand ESR, declared that it would team up with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada to voluntarily initiate a recall of over 50,000 units of its HaloLock series wireless power banks. These power banks pose safety risks and include four models, such as the 2G520 and 2G505B. The recall was prompted by the potential for overheating in the products' lithium-ion batteries, a situation that could lead to fires and explosions. According to official figures, 29 incident reports have been filed. Thankfully, no injuries or fatalities have been reported, but these incidents have caused at least $30,000 worth of property damage in the United States. The affected power banks were sold via channels like Amazon and the ESR official website from September 2022 to July 2025. ESR is now urging consumers to immediately stop using the recalled products and submit photos of them to WayMeet in order to request a full refund.
