Today, Wuhan Children's Hospital, in partnership with SF Same-Day City Delivery and Hubei SF Express, has officially inaugurated an "air-ground integrated" blood transport service. Previously, in the event of an emergency blood shortage at the hospital, an ambulance had to be dispatched to cover an 11-kilometer round-trip journey to the Wuhan Blood Center to procure blood. This process typically took around 1 hour, or could extend up to 1.5 hours during peak traffic hours. Now, the initial 11-kilometer route is serviced by the Fengyi Ark 40 drone, which has the capacity to transport 40 units (equivalent to 8000cc) of blood per flight, thus satisfying the daily requirements of medium-to-large hospitals. This innovative service has significantly cut down the transportation time to roughly 10 minutes, marking an efficiency improvement of over 80%. Tailored specifically for the swift delivery of time-critical medical supplies, such as blood and platelets, the service has been operating smoothly and reliably.
