Nothing, a hardware startup headquartered in the UK, has declared its intention to set up its budget-conscious device brand, CMF, as an independent subsidiary. India will act as the hub for CMF's manufacturing and research and development (R&D) operations. Introduced in 2023, the CMF brand initially rolled out true wireless earbuds and smartwatches, subsequently broadening its product range to encompass smartphones and other gadgets, all aimed at the cost-effective market segment. In a bid to realize localized production, Nothing has entered into a joint venture agreement with Optiemus, an Indian original design manufacturer. Nothing has pledged to invest over $100 million in the upcoming three years, a move that is anticipated to generate more than 1,800 employment opportunities.
