On the evening of September 17, Apple officially acknowledged the presence of camera-related issues affecting the iPhone Air and iPhone 17 Pro, and revealed that these problems would be rectified via a forthcoming software update. The glitch is characterized by the appearance of black squares and white, curved distortions in photos captured under intense, direct LED lighting. This anomaly was initially identified by a CNN Underscored journalist during a product review, with the issue being notably prevalent in high-intensity lighting scenarios, such as concerts.
Apple clarified that the problem only arises under exceptionally specific lighting conditions and is thus deemed to be relatively uncommon. At present, Apple's technical team has formulated a precise fix, with intentions to address the issue through a system software update. However, the exact timing for the release of this update has not been disclosed yet.
