According to Guancha.cn, on the afternoon of September 16, during a post-rehearsal formation exercise involving two XPENG AEROHT eVTOLs (electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft) at the Changchun Air Show, the two aircraft came into contact with each other because there wasn't enough space between them during flight. One of the aircraft managed to land safely as usual. However, the other aircraft suffered damage to its fuselage when landing and subsequently caught fire. Videos captured at the scene show that fire trucks promptly arrived to deal with the situation. Some audience members present at the event disclosed that at least one passenger was injured and had been rushed to the hospital. Fortunately, the injured passenger's condition was not immediately life-threatening. XPENG AEROHT has confirmed the safety of all personnel at the event site, and the relevant authorities have completed their on-site response efforts. The precise cause of the accident is currently under further investigation.
