Early this morning, Apple introduced its slimmest iPhone Air to date, boasting a mere 5.6mm thickness. Casting our minds back to 2014, Gionee's ELIFE S5.5 smartphone emerged as the thinnest in the world at that time, with a body measuring just 5.55mm in thickness, even surpassing the newly released iPhone Air. This sleek device was characterized by its metal frame and third-generation Corning Gorilla Glass, with an impressive 98% of its body enveloped in metal and glass materials. The back of the phone was designed to be flat, housing a camera that did not protrude. Under the hood, the ELIFE S5.5 was powered by a MediaTek MT6592 octa-core processor, paired with a vibrant 5-inch 1080P Samsung Super AMOLED screen. It came with a 2GB RAM + 16GB ROM configuration and was equipped with a non-removable 2300mAh battery. Photography enthusiasts would appreciate its 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front camera, which supported professional mode and offered a range of fun shooting features. The phone was available in five eye-catching color options, including the enchanting Los Angeles Starry Night Black and the crisp Polar Sunlight White. In terms of network connectivity, it provided support for dual 3G networks for both China Mobile and China Unicom, and operated on the Amigo 2.0 system, which was developed based on Android 4.2.
