Well-known industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has revealed that Samsung’s image sensor, initially slated for large-scale production in 2026 to cater to Apple’s iPhone 18 series, might now face a delay, potentially stretching until 2027. The specific cause behind this postponement remains undisclosed. According to analyses from international media, although Samsung boasts a wealth of experience in supplying Apple with components like screens, DRAM, and NAND, it still has to demonstrate its technical prowess to Apple in the realm of camera image sensors. Kuo further noted that the ultra-wide-angle image sensors provided by Samsung are anticipated to make their debut in mid-range and entry-level iPhone models first.
