Xiaomi has recently undergone a significant management reshuffle for its African market, naming Liu Shequan as General Manager of the African Regional Department and Head of the West African Region. Additionally, the company has entrusted Zou Chengzong, Huang Jinhua, Wu Chunhui, Liu Yeqi, and other key leaders with pivotal roles. Since its debut in Africa in 2019, Xiaomi has expanded its operations to 16 countries and has pledged to further escalate its investment in the continent. Xiaomi's sales in Africa have surged, securing an 11% market share, which positions it as the third-largest smartphone brand in the region and poses a formidable challenge to local giant Transsion Holdings. In response to this heightened competition, Transsion Holdings is accelerating its diversification efforts, delving into new ventures such as two-wheeled electric vehicles.
