Zong Fuli, the Chairman of Wahaha, has been embroiled in an asset dispute lawsuit filed in Hong Kong. The suit was initiated by three siblings who claim to be her half-siblings, seeking equal inheritance rights or trust beneficiary privileges. The plaintiffs, Zong Jichang, Zong Jieli, and Zong Jisheng, are advocating for the return of trust funds and have requested the freezing of approximately US$1.8 billion in assets held in Zong Fuli's HSBC bank account. Wahaha has issued a statement clarifying that this dispute is strictly an internal family matter and has no bearing on the company's operations or business activities.
