Since December 1, 2022, China has instituted a zero-tariff policy covering 100% of tariff items for all least developed countries maintaining diplomatic relations with China, according to Lu Daliang, spokesperson for the General Administration of Customs. During the first half of this year, China's imports from these countries witnessed double-digit growth. Looking ahead, China intends to extend this zero-tariff policy to 53 African nations with which it has diplomatic ties, leveraging China's vast market to foster mutual development among all participating countries. China is vigorously expanding domestic demand and initiating special measures to stimulate consumption. As the world's largest potential market with immense scale, China's market will continue to broaden, and its openness will further increase, thereby presenting additional import opportunities to the global community.
