A kindergarten located in Maiji District, Tianshui City, Gansu Province, has been implicated in illegally using additives, resulting in abnormally high blood lead levels in multiple children. According to parents, their children consumed all three meals at the kindergarten during their stay, and some of the children experienced physical discomfort. Following the revelation of this incident, the kindergarten is now under investigation, and regulatory authorities have vowed to hold those responsible accountable.
Xi'an Central Hospital has admitted dozens of affected children and increased its bed capacity to accommodate them. Some parents have sought third-party testing for their children, which confirmed the elevated blood lead levels. The kindergarten in question charges over 10,000 yuan per year, and its actual controller also owns three other kindergartens. This has sparked concerns among parents of children attending these other kindergartens regarding their children's health.
Currently, the affected children are undergoing treatment and receiving nutritional intervention.
