Cerabyte has unveiled an ambitious roadmap for its Ceramic Nano Memory archival storage system, pledging to surpass 100 petabytes (PB) of storage capacity per rack in cloud platforms by the year 2030. With an anticipated data transfer speed exceeding 2 gigabytes per second (GB/s) and a first byte read time reduced to under 10 seconds, this system represents a substantial leap forward from current pilot implementations. Leveraging flexible ultra-thin glass as its substrate and employing cutting-edge femtosecond laser technology, Cerabyte's system etches data onto ceramic nano-layers, facilitating high-density, durable data storage solutions.
