Recently, more than a dozen universities in Beijing have successively issued urgent notices mandating the immediate discontinuation and disposal of Romoss 20,000mAh power banks. This directive was necessitated by several incidents of spontaneous combustion involving these power banks, including cases where they burned through desks and activated the entire floor's fire protection systems. As far back as March 20, 2025, on a French Airways flight (HX115) from Hangzhou to Hong Kong, a Romoss power bank with the same rated capacity caused thick smoke and flames to erupt within the cabin.
