Microsoft has recently released an official statement, asserting that Windows 11 computers outperform Windows 10 by a factor of 2.3 in terms of speed. This bold claim stems from a comparative test conducted by the company in December 2024, leveraging the Geekbench 6 multi-core benchmarking standard. During the test, Windows 10 was evaluated on machines powered by processors such as the i7-8750H and i5-6200U, whereas Windows 11 was tested on devices equipped with the more recent i7-1355U and Core Ultra 5 125H processors.
Furthermore, Microsoft conducted additional hardware comparison tests, revealing that Windows 11 PCs exhibit an average battery life that exceeds Windows 10 by 2.7 hours, web browsing speeds that are 3.2 times faster, and office productivity speeds that are twice as fast. Nonetheless, the substantial differences in hardware between the tested devices have sparked widespread skepticism regarding the validity of these conclusions.
