Due to heavy rainfall, numerous rivers within the Pearl River Basin and the Yangtze River Basin have surpassed flood warning levels. Specifically, the upstream sections and tributaries of the Liujiang River, as well as tributaries of the Hongshui River, have witnessed floods that have exceeded guaranteed levels or have been the largest on record. In response, the Ministry of Water Resources has maintained a Level IV emergency response for flood defense across nine provinces and has dispatched four working groups to support local flood control efforts. These working groups will prioritize key regions, enhance monitoring and early warning systems, manage reservoir operations scientifically, inspect and reinforce embankments, and effectively prevent urban flooding.
