On June 4, the Beijing Academy of Quantum Information Sciences announced a milestone achievement: China's research team has successfully completed the module-level verification of the satellite-ground quantum direct communication system. This marks China's official entry into the construction phase of an integrated space-air-ground quantum direct communication network. Quantum direct communication technology, which has transitioned from the laboratory to practical applications, is poised to play a crucial role in high-security domains such as government affairs, financial security, and national defense. Furthermore, its applications are expected to gradually expand into civilian scenarios, offering quantum-level protection for personal electronic accounts and smart home data.
