The European Commission has unveiled 13 novel raw materials projects situated outside the EU. These endeavors are designed to fortify the supply chain of metals and minerals, thereby bolstering the competitiveness of the EU in energy transition, defense, and aerospace sectors. This initiative serves as a follow-up to the 2023 Critical Raw Materials Act, with an ambitious target to extract 10%, process 40%, and recycle 25% of raw materials by 2030. The selected projects encompass a range of countries, including the United Kingdom and Canada, with a notable inclusion in Greenland.
