On October 19, addressing the concerns regarding the absence of specific features in WeChat's HarmonyOS version, Xiao Jiang, a representative from WeChat's public relations team, clarified in a podcast that there exist misconceptions from external observers. These observers mistakenly believe that WeChat is either being perfunctory or deliberately delaying the development of the HarmonyOS version. Xiao Jiang elaborated that WeChat follows a phased development strategy: "Initially, a trial version is released, followed by a public beta phase, and culminating in an official launch." He further noted that when adapting to an entirely new operating system, there may naturally be a discrepancy between the pace of feature updates and user expectations.
