On October 14, the China National Institute of Standardization released the Blue Book on Standardization of China's Hydrogen Energy Industry (2026). The Energy Law, which came into effect in 2025, includes hydrogen energy in the scope of energy management for the first time. The outline of the 15th Five-Year Plan lists hydrogen energy as a forward-looking industry for future layout (Note: ' layout ' is translated as 'industry for future layout' contextually here, but kept as a concept), and five pilot urban agglomerations for comprehensive hydrogen energy applications have been approved for implementation. This marks that China's hydrogen energy industry is moving from the demonstration introduction stage to large-scale development, and the importance of a standardization strategy has never been greater.
