On October 9, according to The Wall Street Journal, SpaceX has reached an agreement with investment firm Grain Management to acquire its mobile communication spectrum licenses for approximately $8 billion in cash. This marks a significant step for SpaceX in entering the wireless communication market, which is still dominated by traditional telecom operators. The spectrum licenses being acquired cover the 800 MHz band in the United States and are primarily used to provide wireless communication services through cell towers, rather than satellite communication. These spectrum resources will help SpaceX expand its Starlink satellite service from broadband to the wireless communication market, competing with operators such as AT&T and Verizon.
