On August 19, the 2026 World Robot Conference kicked off at the Beiren Yichuang International Convention and Exhibition Center, located in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area. In contrast to the previous year, this year's conference sent out a distinct message: the robot industry is shifting from a period centered on displaying technological capabilities—essentially "showing off its strength"—to a phase that prioritizes market needs, or "taking customer orders." This marks a transition from a supply-side showcase to a two-way dialogue between supply and demand.

Xin Guobin, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, unveiled crucial data at the opening ceremony. He revealed that in 2025, the revenues of robot industry enterprises above a designated size surpassed 300 billion yuan, boasting an average annual growth rate exceeding 20% over the preceding five years. In the first half of this year alone, revenues soared to 165.5 billion yuan, marking a 24.5% increase year-on-year. Xin Guobin emphasized, "Robot technologies and products have been thoroughly integrated into diverse sectors of the national economy and social development, emerging as a pivotal force propelling high-quality growth."
