On August 19th, when questioned about the feasibility of the online claims that solid-state batteries could enable vehicles to "charge in just 10 minutes and travel up to 1,500 kilometers," Wan Gang, the Honorary President of the China Association for Science and Technology, clarified that such performance represents an ideal scenario. He anticipated that solid-state batteries might reach the industrialization phase around 2030. Additionally, Wan Gang expressed optimism regarding the potential of sodium-ion batteries, highlighting their cost-effectiveness, safety features, and suitability for commercial vehicles as well as use in high-altitude, cold regions.
