The CEO of Nokia, Justin Hotard, has declared that, in light of a shrinking market share, the company will implement employee layoffs in China. The decision to shut down Nokia's research and development (R&D) center in Hangzhou is expected to lead to the loss of around 1,600 positions. Prior to this move, Nokia had already assumed complete control over its operations in China and had been progressively scaling back its presence in the Chinese market.
